1964 (Nov. 5) Iowa Music Teacher Wins Honors for Best P.E. Class!

This week it's "business as usual" for the employees at the Nissen Corporation, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Except that there's a new "usual." As in..increased promotions, sales, orders and...

Playing a key role in assisting one Cedar Rapids elementary school music teacher to win honors
for running the best physical education class in the state of Iowa!

BELOW:
Gen McGrew started at Nissen's in 1956 and was always known as one of the outstanding employees who pitched in whenever help was needed. Her quick wit and smiles brought organization and sanity to Nissen's ever growing stack of sales orders.

On loan from Nissen's to the President's Council on Physical Fitness & Sports, Rich Harris was the expert in developing simple teaching systems for trampoline and gymnastics. During the 1960's, the growing Baby Boom generation caused school districts across the U.S.A. to expand so quickly that often there were not enough instructors for every class. But as you'll read below, the combination of Nissen's Junior-Size gymnastic apparatus and Rich Harris' simple teaching system saved the day for one Iowa music teacher!

"Nissen's - - it's a great place to work!"
