- Canada holds its first National Trampoline Championships.

Meanwhile in Ottawa, Larry Martin organized Canada's first National Trampoline Championships.
Just five month's earlier, Larry competed in the Professional Trampoline Championships that were held at Grossinger's Resort in New York. Larry went on to a successful career as professional diver and trampolinist, better known as "Durango Coy."
Rick Kinsman, champion Canadian gymnast and member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Gym Club, won the men's senior division. He and Leslie Sguigna created a unique comedy trampoline act, calling themselves, "The Rebounders."
Rick and Leslie performed in Las Vegas as well as with the famed Harlem Globetrotter's.
